ICAI is conducting yoga sessions on International Yoga Day

Yoga is an ancient practice that builds strength and awareness and brings together the mind and body. It includes breathing exercises, meditation and asanas or poses that stretch and flex various muscle groups. These asanas are designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress.

There are many advantages of yoga. Practicing yoga is said to come with many physical and psychological wellness benefits.

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.

Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in his UN address in 2014, had suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.

ICAI is planning to celebrate International Yoga day by organising programs through its regional councils and branches. Yoga sessions are proposed to be conducted by trained yoga gurus all across the country and experts will share their words of wisdom on the importance of yoga. ICAI invites all the members and students along with their families to come forward and participate wholeheartedly in the yoga related programs being organized.
